BMW Ghost Immobiliser
The Ghost utilizes the CAN data bus to communicate with your vehicle. This prevents thieves from replacing the ECU or adding an additional lock to circumvent the security system.
In contrast to other immobilisers, The Ghost is different from other immobilisers. Ghost does not use LED indicators or key-fobs. It uses the buttons on your vehicle to allow you to to enter a unique sequence of disarming that you can only remember.
Stop & Start
If you've ever driven a new BMW or utilized the stop start feature, you may have noticed that after stopping the engine will continue to be running for approximately 30 seconds after releasing the brake pedal. The BMW engine management system continues to watch the vehicle for signals emanating from the ignition key. When it detects this, the vehicle will continue to operate. Our BMW ghost immobiliser, a new generation device, doesn't require cutting OEM wires or to add key fobs or alarms from the aftermarket. It is hooked up to your BMW's CAN data network and is programmed with an encrypted, secure PIN code that can be accessible through buttons in your car. This lets you enter an exact key-push sequence that is not present in the standard menus for media, such as volume up/down or cruise control, source or air conditioning on and stops your car from starting until this is entered. The PIN can be between 4 and 20 characters, making it hard for thieves to guess.
In addition, we can also add a service or valet mode to the system. This is activated when the car is being serviced to ensure that the Ghost is hidden from the garage. It also allows you to take the car to the garage for maintenance or repairs without having to worry about it being damaged or stolen by a mechanic while you are waiting.
Once the valet or service mode is activated, it will block your BMW from being able to be driven once started, this prevents anyone from test driving while you are away. Once you return it will be back to normal, preventing your vehicle from being damaged or stolen again.
The Ghost can be installed on any BMW. All you require are the correct keys because the device does not use the original remotes, but can be used with them. Anti-Hijack
Ghost created this discrete device that is obtrusive, and unobtrusive to fight the increasing sophistication of hi-tech thieves. It is designed to stop thieves from putting in an ignition key or replacing the ECU to start your car and drive it off. Ghost is connected to your CAN network, and uses buttons on your vehicle to create an unique push-sequence which must be entered before your engine can be started.
This will activate the anti-hijack mode and, once activated, any attempt to start the engine will be immediately blocked. If the system detects that the vehicle has stopped moving it will honk the horn and flash the indicators, if it is not able to identify the correct code it will also stop the engine (where it is). The Ghost can be placed on the dashboard or in the centre console. It is completely concealed and secure, and does not need any additional wiring. The device is connected to CAN Data Network of the vehicle (similar to Ethernet cable) and a personalised pin code is programmed into it. This pin code has to be chosen prior to the engine starting. This stops thieves from gaining access to the system by using the cloned or replaced ECU.
